Description
In 2010, Rodionov & Sons, using recipes and production techniques for traditional Russian grain distillates found by Russian vodka historian Boris Rodionov in archives and old books, released their first limited series. That is how the Polugar story began. Polugar distillate is a distillation product with the characteristic taste and aroma of its raw materials, making it the foundation for unique spirits that preserve the individuality of each component. Today the brand portfolio includes more than 10 SKUs. The name derives from an ancient measure of alcoholic strength known since Peter the Great, symbolizing a rich cultural and historical legacy. The name Polugar dates to the 19th century, when the term denoted a 38.5% strength standard and reflected a unique quality test—the spirit that “burns halfway.” Polugar unites heritage with modern quality standards, offering a spirit that embodies the rich culture of the Russian table. Polugar Vodka at 38.5% ABV is a logical continuation of historical tradition and underscores the product’s authenticity. Reviving 19th-century traditions—a recreated recipe from the romantic late 19th century—with the precision and control of modern production. Organic composition—carefully selected organic spirit, pristine water, rye malt infusion, and honey create a perfect balance of flavor. Triple distillation at the heart of the process—rye malt infusion from select rye grain undergoes three distillations in a copper pot still. Polugar Vodka’s exceptional softness is achieved during beech charcoal treatment. Every batch of Polugar Vodka undergoes authorial quality control by dynasty heir Ilya Rodionov. Polugar Vodka is currently produced at Kolomensky Winery and Cognac Plant (KVKZ).
